The Young at ❤️ group is for anyone aged 60 plus. We have three main social events in the year…

A Daffodil Tea in the springtime, a Harvest Tea in the Autumn and a Spring Coach Outing…

The Teas are on Saturday afternoons from 2:30-4pm, with beautiful sandwiches, cream scones, tray bakes, cakes and fresh cream pastries – all home baked! This is usually followed by a game of some kind, played in teams around the tables. After the prizes are awarded, there is a short programme of singing and artists taking part. It is always greatly enjoyed, possibly because it is totally free and you often get a little pastry to take home!

The Coach outing is usually around the middle of May. Last year we left the Church car park at 9:30am and travelled for morning tea/coffee and a scone. Then on to the museum in Lisburn where there was a great presentation of “The Flax to Linen Experience”. We all found it very interesting and the staff were really helpful and informative. Then we were free for an hour to have some retail therapy downtown, go and sit in the nearby council gardens or just have another coffee! The best was yet to come as we boarded the coach and headed to the Beechlawn Hotel in Dunmurry for a three course meal. A good day was had by all and again it was free!

As well as these three events, all Young at ❤️ “members” get a Christmas gift and have their own dedicated page in the Church magazine.
