Kells, like most churches, relies on teams of volunteers to run and maintain the audio and video equipment which is needed in a modern church environment. We currently have three teams:
Audio: Responsible for making sure that the occupants of the pulpit, the Praise Group, the Choir, and anyone else taking part in the services can be heard clearly. This team also maintains the PA equipment in the Eaton and Houston Halls: the church service can (if required) be connected so that it can be heard in these halls, as well as the Minor Hall and Creche Room (these two halls even have their own volume controls, and can mute the sound completely, if it is not required! They also set-up portable PA equipment for outdoor services and activities,
PowerPoint: (they make sure that the slides and videos are correctly being displayed on the various screens/TV’s in the main church building)
Streaming: They ensure that the video cameras in the church are adjusted to show the required views of the service. They also edit the video from the two cameras and combine it with suitable audio derived from the mixing desk, and upload it to You Tube, where it can be viewed either Live online or at a later date/time.
If you are interested in assisting with any of these Teams, please contact one of the Team members. Don’t worry if you have no experience: suitable (comprehensive!) training will be provided, and you will always have backup from more experienced members of your team! If you’re not sure if you’d like to be part of one of these teams, why not ‘sit-in’ with the operators, and see what is involved!
