Our annual Spring outing this year was on Friday 24th May. We had 47 on board the Causeway Coach and we set off at 9.30 am looking for adventure! Our 1st stop was at Ballygally Castle for tea, coffee and scones (nothing but the best for our Young at ❤️ friends).
Well fed and watered, we went on along the coastal drive to our next port of call which was Glenarm Castle. Here we had a visit to Granny Shaw’s Fudge factory where we had a very interesting talk on how the fudge was made, how the business began and how it is growing from strength to strength. Thanks to Glenn and Rhonda for allowing us lot to invade their premises, for the interesting knowledge you gave us and for allowing us to sample all those delicious flavours of fudge, jams and chutneys. There were a lot of purchases made at Granny Shaw’s.
Back on the coach we headed on along the coast to Ballycastle where we had some free time either for retail therapy in the town centre or just to walk along the sea front before enjoying a delicious meal in The Marine Hotel.
The day was finished by a tour of Portrush to see how the popular seaside town was preparing to receive over a quarter of a million golf fans and tourists in July for The British Open and then on to Portstewart for a final stop. No day out is complete without a Morelli ice cream.
